The following sections will serve as an overview of the main layers and structures in the cosmology of DC Comics. The relationship between mortals and metaphysical realms is very paradoxical from a tiering system standpoint, in my opinion. Some people would look at a lot of this stuff and, out of a desire to get bigger tiers, try to default to 1-A. Or, more likely, I'm not nearly well versed enough in it to figure out how they mesh. Not saying the system is bad, just that I'm not sure they mesh too well. That's because I've come to the personal conclusion that most of DC's cosmology doesn't fit very well in a tiering system based primarily on mathematical terms like infinities. Not every section talks about tiers and stuff. But I thought it would be a shame to let this languish in my sandbox. I have (hopefully) convinced someone more qualified to do that. It is not meant to be an official page for the wiki. This is the overall cosmology interpretation I came to after reading far too many comics over way too many years. Given all of the above, we are scaling him from being far above both Michael Demiurgos and Lucifer Morningstar, and also most likely superior to Mother Night, as he is the Supreme God of the DC Comics/Vertigo Continuities, beyond even the Overvoid itself.Right.However, the collected dream of a world where humans ruled over cats altered reality from its very beginning, making it so that humans were always larger than cats. This concept was introduced in The Sandman: A Dream of a Thousand Cats, which depicts that originally cats were the dominant species on Earth, being giant beasts that hunted humans. The Presence has stated that he was shaped by external forces, apparently intended to be the beliefs and imaginations of humanity, rather than a 4th Wall reference to the writers or real-world humans. The Overvoid, The Voice and The Source are all just aspects of him.)Įxtra Info: Credit to Antvasima from VSBattles for writing this excerpt. Name: Yahweh, Jehovah, The Presence, God of the Covenant Although his power is virtually unparalleled, he rarely interferes in the affairs of mortals directly, instead acting through agents and aspects of himself, such as The Spectre. The Presence is the God in the DC Multiverse and the father of both Lucifer Morningstar and Michael Demiurgos.
